Japanese tradition (Karla)

I introduce about summer festival in Japan tradition.

Each prefecture have different festival in summer.


This picture is in Kyoto.

Gion

The name of this festival is 京都祇園祭 (gionmatsuri).

This festival started over 1000 years ago. Every year from July 1st to the 31st Eki Shrine Natsukoshi Festival for a month various Shinto rituals are held.


This picture is in Tokushima.

Awa Odori is confided to be one of the three major Bon Odori dances in Japan, and is a Bon Odori dance that originated in Tokushima Prefecture (formerly Awarenesses Province). Group pf dancers is called "ren"and parades in time with the shamisen and drums.

As you can see, there are many traditional festivals in Japan.

  1. Hi, Karla! Even though I have never seen Odori directly I want to see once and enjoy the atmosphere of traditional performance. By the way, do you know Uchiwa festival in Kumagaya? Please check it!
